A little bit about your tutor…

Salut tout le monde! Je m’appelle Alison. Heureuse de vous rencontrer!

(Hi everyone! I’m Alison. Very pleased to meet you!)

Le chateau d’Angers

My love of the French language began at an early age and like some of you, my journey began at school. As one of my favourite subjects for as long as I can remember, it seemed only natural that I should go on to study French to Degree level.

I was fortunate to live in the beautiful town of Angers, (Maine et Loire) in France in the mid ‘90s, where I worked as an ‘Assistante’ in two French Secondary schools. My time abroad was very successful and cemented my love of all things French and certainly of teaching!

Upon completion of my degree, I immediately enrolled upon a PGCE course, specialising in Secondary education. From there, I taught pupils of all ages and abilities, for 26 years in UK secondary schools and a Sixth form, covering KS3, KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A level) whilst leading an outstanding Modern Foreign Language department for 21 of those years.

As my tutee, I can promise you lessons that will engage and educate you, whilst at the same time allowing you to have fun. Language-learning does not have to be arduous.

I want to share my love of the French language with you all, so what are you waiting for?

Allons-y!
